Rosacea, a chronic disease affects approximately 14 million Americans. The cause of this disease is unknown. It appears mainly near the chin, cheeks, and the nose. Rosacea appears more on fair-skinned people and affects 5% of Americans. Rosacea causes redness and it results in enlargement of the blood vessels. Here are a few home remedies you can try:

Olive Leaf extract

  1. Make two cups of green tea and freeze for half an hour.
  2. Soak a cloth in the cold tea and place it over the affected area for 10-15 minutes.

Apple Cider Vinegar

The causes of rosacea have not been determined yet. It cannot be cured, but there are a few things that can aggravate it, like:

  • Abnormality in blood vessels
  • Spicy foods
  • Alcohol
  • The intestinal bacteria Helicobacter pylori

Other than these exposures to sun, stress, extremely hot and cold weather, hot drinks may also lead to rosacea. We can prevent them by following certain steps:

Stay out of the sun from 10 am to 4 pm. While going out cover your face using visor or scarf.

Use products labeled as noncomedogenic. Avoid OTC creams unless a doctor prescribes you. They can worsen symptoms in the long run.

Use a sunscreen that is rated SPF 30 or higher.

Use products that are gentle on your skin.
