In the traditional Indian medicine Ayurveda, turmeric is know as the healing spice, used for curing anything from colds, sore throats, stomach aches, to arthritis, multiple sclerosis or even cancer, due to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-oxidant properties. Ingredients

2 cups vegan milk of choice
1 tsp turmeric powder
3 whole cardamom pods
1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger
* Optional sweetener of choice (raw organic honey, raw sugar cane sugar)

Method

Peel the ginger and roughly chop it. Pour the milk into a pan, and add the turmeric powder, the crushed cardamom and the ginger cubes. Heat over low heat for 2-3 minutes, until the spices start to release their flavors and transform the milk into a real medicine. Use a strainer to filter the milk and remove the cardamom pods and ginger pieces. Add the sweetener if needed, and drink right away.
