These nuts are a delicious snack and perfect with drinks before dinner. Easy and quick to make, they are ready in 15 minutes and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 10 days mine are always eaten pretty well on the day they are made.
Nuts are of course rich in energy, protein, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids.
Crunchy yet buttery and wonderfully delicious, these nuts also make a tasty gift!
1 1/2 cups nuts
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon chili powder
Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C or Gas Mark 4).
Place nuts on a parchment-lined baking tray, spray with a little cooking spray, and bake for 10 minutes, watch to see they are not burning. This short oven bake is to add crunch.

Over medium heat, stir maple syrup in a saucepan till it comes to a low boil, stir in butter.
Add nuts, and stir until coated.
Combine cinnamon and chili powder (to taste) in a bowl.
Remove nuts from the maple mixture with a slotted spoon, and toss in the spice mixture.
