I am very often asked about a skin care regimen for men. Whether its from their mothers, wives or the men themselves, homemade skin care tips for men are in popular demand. I think it is because men do not have dozens upon dozens of advertisements thrown at them for skin remedies like women. Because of the lack of information and products available, many men are not aware of the importance of keeping their skin healthy.

Their dry or flakey skin might be something they live with or occasionally use their wives lotion for a quick fix. Frankly, the thought of doing one more thing in the bathroom before they leave for work might be intimidating for some men. That was the case for the men in my life until I introduced them to some easy homemade skin care tips.

Aloe Vera is the perfect light moisturizer for a mans face. When mixed with olive oil and grapefruit seed it makes a wonderful face cleanser.

Heres how:
Combine 30ml aloe vera gel, 2 drops grapefruit seed extract, 30ml rosewater, 50ml olive oil and 4 drops rose essential oil. Mix in a bowl and store in a small container in the refrigerator. Be sure to shake before using. Place the mixture lightly over your face and remove with water. Pat dry with a cloth. This recipe is ideal for helping a man have a deep cleanse without leaving the skin feeling weighed down.

For men who have oily skin
You might want to try a scrub that removes dead skin and leaves the skin feeling refreshed. This oatmeal scrub is a favorite among the men in my family. Combine chamomile tea (cooled!), oatmeal, an extra-large scoop of honey, and 2 drops of almond oil. Mix well then rub over face and neck to exfoliate the skin.

If you want a deeper cleanse, leave it on longer. After no more than 10 minutes, take off the mask with water and a soft cloth. Men will instantly notice their skin is softer and blemish free.

Heal Skin After Shave
Next time he is at the store, tell your husband to pick up some honey, avocado and vinegar. No, you arent making him a special salsa, this concoction is for his face. Use a very ripe avocado and mix well with a scoop of honey and spoonful of vinegar. Mix well and smooth over face. If it is not smoothing well, add a little sesame oil to make the consistency a little smoother.

This homemade recipe is especially good for healing the skin after a shave. The avocado cools the skin and soothes any razor burn. If you choose to use more ingredients, this is also a wonderful mask for the neck, chest and arms. Many men use this calming recipe to soothe and moisturize their dry skin due to sun or other outdoor conditions.

For Feet
Mix light olive oil and granulated sugar in a large bowl and offer to scrub your hard working mans feet. This is an excellent and relaxing gift for anyone who spends many hours on their feet during the day. The simple two-ingredient recipe of items you already have in your home can make a big difference to a mans skin at the end of a long work day.

Those are just a few of my favorite natural homemade skin care tips that I make especially for men. The pores on men tend to be bigger which leads to a greater need for a deep clean at the end of the day. These recipes all naturally benefit a mans skin without any harsh or unknown ingredients.

Everything is natural and can stay fresh in the refrigerator for about 10 days. Treat the men in your life with the gift of healthy skin, I promise they will love you even more for it.
